Itâs so crazy to say that Iâm 25 now! And oh, the things Iâve learned.
I have to admit, life never turns out the way you expect. If you wouldâve asked me a few years ago where Iâd be at this age, I probably wouldâve said Iâd be married and maybe even have kids by now. But Godâs plans are much better than ours, and clearly His plan for me is on a different schedule than mine. All I can say is thank goodness for that!
This season of my life is filled with learning and growing and finding what Iâm passionate about and loving the people in my life to the best of my ability. Although it might look different from other peopleâs stories, I have more peace and excitement now than Iâve ever had before. Which I am SO thankful for!
In honor of turning 25 I thought it would be fitting to share 25 of the most valuable things Iâve learned so far in my 25 years of life. I hope they can encourage you in some way, wherever you are on your journey!

25 things Iâve learned in 25 years
1. Your parents are usually always right.
2. You donât have to do the same thing everyone else is doing just because everyone else is doing it.
3. Most worries & fears are so much bigger in your head than they are in reality.
4. What you care about as a teenager is probably not what youâre going to care about as an adult. You think you know everything, but you actually donât. In fact you basically know nothing.
5. When you go on adventures, make sure you take pictures of the people youâre with, not just the places you go. Those are the memories youâll cherish the most.

6. Nothing lasts forever. Seasons come and go, good and bad. Something new is always coming.
7. Nobody remembers who the cool people were in high school. âCoolâ doesnât actually exist anymore once youâre an adult.
8. Having a boyfriend/significant other is not the key to happiness.
9. Youâll never fix your problems by running from them. You canât run from yourself. Youâll never have true peace until you face them head on.
10. If youâre not sure what to do about something, trust your gut. As a wise person once told me, âWhen in doubt, donât!â

11. Going to college doesnât automatically make you successful. And not going to college doesnât automatically make you a failure. Life is what you make of it.
12. Itâs not about where you go, itâs about who youâre with. Anywhere can be a blast with the right people, or even the most extravagant vacation can be miserable with the wrong people.Â
13. Life is too short to be stuck doing something you hate everyday. If youâre not happy with where you are, change it.
14. Nobody is going to respect you if you donât respect yourself first.
15. If you try to do everything at once, youâre never going to accomplish anything. Instead, focus on one thing at a time and take baby steps to reach your goal.

16. How you look doesnât matter â what matters is your confidence in yourself.
17. No person/thing/achievement/circumstance is going to make you happy. Only you can choose to be happy wherever you are (and only with Godâs help).
18. Less is more. Physical clutter causes anxiety, but owning a small number of things that are valuable and useful will clear your mind and give you peace.
19. Praying is the most important thing you can ever do. Not just because it changes your circumstances, but because it changes you.
20. Life is too short not to eat the chocolate once in a while. Or the donut, or the french fries, or the piece of cake. Itâs all about moderation. đ

21. Youâre never going to âget there.â Every hurdle in life is a stepping stone to the next challenge. Youâre never finished growing.
22. When youâre feeling stressed out, sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break and go to bed early. Let yourself recharge and start again in the morning.
23. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. But hindsight is 20/20 and youâll wish you took the advice before you made the mistakes!
24. Friends come and go but family is family, so those relationships are worth investing in.
25. Apart from Jesus youâll never find what youâre looking for. Youâll never know true peace, joy, or contentment until you surrender your life to Him 100%. Youâll spend your life chasing happiness, but youâll never reach it.
Live and learn
These things Iâve learned have come from years of experiences, challenges, mistakes, and growth. What about you? What are the biggest life lessons youâve learned that you would want to share with others? I hope youâre having a lovely March, friends. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of my life!
