]]>I’ve been looking for a classic chambray button-up shirt and stumbled upon this cap-sleeved one at Forever 21. Something about the sleeves and how the shirt looks tied in the front just screams retro vibes to me! I paired it with some cuffed jeans, pink sneakers, and Ray-ban sunnies, which made me feel like I walked out of 1950s photograph.

Since I don’t usually get out of my neighborhood much, my goal this summer has been to find some cool new places to try in Tucson and gain a better appreciation for where I live. Last week I found this super cute restored diner downtown. It was the perfect spot for a snack on a rainy monsoon afternoon!
Getting out of the house can be hard during the summer, since it gets above 110 degrees some days. Finding new places like this has definitely helped me appreciate Tucson more, and actually having a reason to put on a cute outfit is always nice! But I still can’t help but dream about being able to travel and escape the hot summers someday in the future.
Nothing says retro vibes like an old fashioned diner and soda in a glass bottle. You can probably always find me eating too many french fries and drinking too much Dr. Pepper, and this time wasn’t any different!
Thank you Shannon Dudley for the photos!
What have you been up to this summer & how do you beat the heat? What’s your favorite retro comeback style? Let me know in the comments!

Becka
P.S. – My favorite off-the-shoulder top for summer, and embracing the season you’re in.

]]>I’ve been obsessed with the Mercado ever since I first visited. I’ve been coming here a lot lately to either grab coffee with friends or spend time blogging and journaling. It’s just the prettiest spot and I sometimes forget I’m in Tucson while I’m here!

This bag from Old Navy is seriously THE. BEST. I use it to carry my computer and endless notebooks with me to the coffee shop. I love it! The nice thing about it is that it’s such a great deal, but I’m thinking of one day investing in the Madewell leather version!
For a casual day at the Mercado, I paired my off-the-shoulder top with a basic pair of jeans and my favorite gladiator sandals, but it also goes great with shorts or skinny jeans. I’m sure I’ll be wearing it on repeat all summer!
I seriously can’t wait for summer to end and cooler days to begin. But until then, I’ll just keep drinking all the iced coffee I can get my hands on! At least in this outfit I can look cute doing it!

P.S. – I also want to give a shoutout to my brother Jason for taking the pictures for this post. He is a newbie photographer, but as you can tell he’s already amazing! Check out his Instagram to see how cool he is.Â
P.P.S. – Here’s my spring capsule wardrobe, and an outfit with retro vibes for summer.
